How do we move beyond simply studying the Bible and learn to fellowship with Christ through Scripture? In this message on Galatians 1:1–5, Gene Edwards explores a deeply spiritual approach to Scripture—coming quietly before the Lord, touching the eternal realities of Christ, and allowing the Word to lead us into fellowship with Him.
Rather than approaching Galatians only as a source of biblical information, doctrine, or teaching, Gene encourages believers to discover Christ within the Scriptures. Beginning with the opening verses of Galatians, he draws attention to God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, grace, peace, Christ’s resurrection, His giving Himself for our sins, and our deliverance from this present evil age.
The goal is not simply to understand these truths intellectually. It is to spend time in the presence of Jesus Christ and allow these eternal realities to become part of our fellowship with Him.
Gene describes a progression from reading and becoming familiar with Scripture to quietly speaking its words to the Lord and ultimately entering into a deeper awareness of the fellowship between the Father and the Son.
This message also explores the relationship between knowing Christ personally and the life of the church. Gene presents the church as an organic, functioning Body of believers in which brothers and sisters nourish and spiritually strengthen one another from what they themselves have received through spending time with Christ.
If you desire a deeper Christian life, a richer experience of Scripture, greater intimacy with Jesus Christ, or a more Christ-centered understanding of the church, this message offers a very different way of approaching the Word of God.
