Church History Conference Part 4 – How God Truly Raises Disciples
The next page of church history is blank, and we desperately need men who have the spiritual fiber and courage to write it. In this uncompromising message, Gene Edwards asks why America seems “totally incapable” of raising up a deep, organic work of God from within its own borders. He argues that the modern system of training is a “whole bloomer mess” that “won’t work,” and calls young men to reject the traditional seminary path. Instead, the genius of God’s way—seen in both Jesus and Paul—is to raise up “hardheaded young realists” through deeply rooted church life and intense, sacrificial living with a godly “old man”. Gene Edwards implores those who feel the call to humble themselves, embrace the cross in its “bloodiest expression,” and pay any price necessary to see a genuine restoration of workers in this land.
